DJC for the Environment
Environmental sustainability in football is increasingly important as the sport has a significant global impact on the environment.
From the construction and maintenance of stadiums to the travel demands of teams and fans, football contributes to carbon emissions and waste. Embracing sustainability within the sport can reduce its ecological footprint by implementing eco-friendly practices like using renewable energy, reducing waste, and promoting sustainable materials for equipment and merchandise.
In addition, teams and organizations can set a positive example for fans, encouraging them to adopt more sustainable behaviors in their daily lives.
By prioritizing sustainability, football not only helps combat climate change but also inspires millions to recognize the importance of protecting the planet for future generations.
We want to leave a better state of the environment for our children, and DJC will not be left behind in ensuring we implement initiatives that do just that.
We are partnering with local environmental organizations as well as national bodies to make sure we monitor and reduce our carbon footprint. We aim to have a sustainability report available in 2026 reflecting the impact of our efforts in DJC 2025. We will also aim to involve all athletes in our efforts to ensure we are educating them on the importance of a clean space for sport.
