DJC is for the girl child
At DJC, our football initiative is deeply committed to empowering the girl child through sport, recognizing its transformative power to uplift and inspire. We intentionally focus on creating a safe and supportive space where girls can engage in football, develop confidence, and build valuable life skills.
In our past editions, as it will be in DJC 2025, we aim to break down gender barriers, offering girls equal opportunities to participate in sports and encouraging them to pursue their dreams, both on and off the field.
By partnering with individuals who have worked in providing mentorship and role models, we foster a sense of strength and independence in young girls, helping them to realize their full potential and overcome any limitations imposed by societal norms.
In addition to promoting female sport, DJC is dedicated to supporting girls who have faced abuse or adversity. Our initiative will partner with local bodies that have offered a platform for healing and empowerment, using- among other means, football as a tool for emotional recovery and resilience.
By providing a safe and nurturing environment, we help these girls rebuild their self-esteem and confidence while teaching them to channel their experiences into strength. Through sport, we aim to give them the opportunity to take control of their lives, inspiring them to rise above their challenges and thrive.
Our holistic approach is not just about physical activity; it’s about creating a community of support and solidarity where girls can flourish and become advocates for change in their own lives and beyond.
